Anibal Lopez, one of the top amateur bodybuilders of the 1970's, is the guest this week on the Bodybuilding Legends Podcast. Anibal, despite weighing no more than 155 pounds, was one of the top bodybuilders in the world during his career. Anibal talks about when he started competing in the bodybuilding competitions, his friendships with top champions like Sergio Oliva, Chris Dickerson and Steve Michalik and his decision not to use steroids during his bodybuilding career. Anibal also talks about his desire to be the first Puerto Rican to win the AAU Mr. America title, Steve Michalik's suicide and why he decided to stop competing in bodybuilding. At the end of the podcast, John Hansen reads an article from the March, 1980 issue of Muscle & Fitness magazine written by Frank Zane called "Three Dreams in a Row" in which Frank talks about the dreams that predicted each of his Mr. Olympia wins from 1977-1979.
